Eternal Slumber The stench of decay blows with the breeze, Wilting the flowers, grass and the leaves, Rolling hills of Han clatter with the sound of bone, As a tattered figure in a robe rests upon a throne of Stone. The undead ranks span as far as his icy eyes can see, Rising from the corpses of all the men he's set free, Releasing them from the curse that was their lives, Allowing their bodies to be reanimated and revived. What's left of his jaw forms into somewhat of a grin, Centuries have caused his rotting flesh to thin, A wonderous day for tonight his armies will advance, Marching towards Nagnang in their undead trance. Their weapons will drag echoing on the cobblestone, Sending shivers down the spine wherever the sound is blown, Women will flee and their husbands will stay to die, No army stands a chance to fight and defy. It has been this way for centuries of war and conquest, Each kingdom the same, ravaged with little contest, And this latest one has been decades in the making, The Tri-kingdom alliance is finally his for the taking. They've gotten fat and lazy with no fight or opposition, And now it is time that they make the final transition, Nagnang will be first but will fall as they tread, A fitting start being the so called "Land of the Dead". He rises from his throne and raises his oak staff to the air, An action that causes all to tremble in despair, The skeletons shift and turn towards the west, And begin to march towards at their rulers behest. Come the dawn Nagnang will be but smoldering rubble, Their pallisades toppled, their palace crumbled, Erased from history in the blink of an eye, That's what is in store for Nagnang on the nigh'. The blue eyes dance with a frozen flicker of flame, As he recalls the battles from whence his army came, Knowing soon the same fate the kingdoms will soon meet, And everyone who lives in them will be granted the long sleep. - hmson | |
